Catherine Rincon, LMHC
Hello! My name is Catherine Rincon and I am a licensed mental health counselor in Florida (License #16254). More specifically, I am someone who lends an ear, perspective, and encouragement to those who feel alone in their pain.
I love to help people who are feeling very stressed and overwhelmed with negative thoughts throughout their days. I understand feeling overwhelmed by every day stress after the fact, and the struggles to connect with those around us in a safe way. I am well versed in partnering with people in navigating these emotions and coming out of it the person we aspire to be.
My professional and personal experiences (which you can see below) have taught me to address the difficulties of moving on from hard things that happen to us – past, present and future.
My ideal clients are adolescents and adults who are open to having honest conversations about their own patterns, circumstances and behaviors.
It can be really hard to understand when emotions or negative influences are clouding our judgement in life. That’s why it’s important to find a counselor you feel comfortable with, that can give you un-biased, non-judgmental perspectives on your everyday life. Someone you can be completely honest with, or entrust to help you, your child, or your partner open up to a new perspective. Counseling can help anyone understand things in an objective way so that we can make decisions on how we can live better, more peaceful lives.
My style of counseling is an accepting person-centered approach with a trauma focused lens. I utilize cognitive behavioral therapy and solution-focused techniques mostly. I believe in open communication with my clients so that we can confront what is stopping us from really enjoying the here-and-now. My nerdy personal interests have centered around existential themes, and practices of mindfulness. Recently I earned training in Heart Centered Hypnotherapy with the Wellness Institute.
I have also made a daily commitment to do the work of openly identifying my own biases and experiences of race/culture. I’m hoping to help you do the same. I also enjoy art, music, video games (guilty pleasure!), reading about people and cultures, long philosophical conversations, and connecting in the moment with my family.
